Stem cell for immune system rejuvenation

Hematopoietic stem cell the cornerstone of the immune system! In humans, like most other species, the later stages of life see a decline in the overall maintenance of an organism and the subsequent decline in health. This decline also applies to hematopoietic systems, in which aging is associated with an increased risk of hematological malignancies and other diseases.

Hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) are a continuous source of various lymphocytes and myeloid cells from early development through to old age. Ongoing maintenance and immune protection are the responsibility of blood cells, and these are produced in the billions by hematopoietic stem cells every hour.

Aging and immune system decrease in function.

The effects of aging on the immune system are manifest at multiple levels that include reduced production of B and T cells in the bone marrow and thymus and diminished function of mature lymphocytes in secondary lymphoid tissues. As a result, elderly individuals do not respond to immune challenges as robustly as the young.

The immune responses of elderly individuals are retarded in general, and studies on the process of blood cell formation have revealed that these adaptive immune responses and hemocyte components are significantly reduced by aging, leading to an increase in the incidence of myeloid diseases, including cancer.

Some diseases that may cause your immune system to function poorly are:

  • pneumonia

  • meningitis

  • bronchitis

  • skin infections

  • autoimmune disorders

  • inflammation of the internal organs

  • blood disorders or abnormalities, such as anemia

  • digestive issues, including loss of appetite, diarrhea, and abdominal cramping

  • Cancer

Stem cell treatment for Immune System Rejuvenation

This treatment is meant to reverse aging rather than delay it. Renewal can be achieved through the reconstitution of endogenous hematopoietic stem cells or the transplantation of stem cells, usually derived from umbilical cord blood.

One plan aimed at the reconstitution of endogenous stem cells is the pharmacological modulation of deregulated factors. But currently, this type of intervention has achieved only partial rejuvenation. Therefore stem cell transplantation is still considered the mature technology and thus remains an effective method for the hematological treatment of patients.
